The big square chip with the "ES2" is the custom ASIC chip Mr. Wolfgang "PPG" Palm did for Waldorf. Its more or less the digital heart of the wavetable engine.
Analog board of the Waldorf WaveSlave
The filter are using the same type of Curtis analog chips as the first revision of the Waldorf microWave:
CEM 3389 (Voltage Controlled Signal Processor)
"Included on-chip are a wide-range four-pole lowpass VCF with voltage controlled resonance, and three high quality VCAs, two of which pan the output signal of the third between two outputs."
OS EPROMs of the Waldorf WaveSlave
OS 0.58 ?!?
I wonder if this was the official release or if this is just like this on my WaveSlave.
Anyone brave enough to open his/her WaveSlave?
